Man wanted for 2021 Mower County assault arrested in Wisconsin

AUSTIN, Minn. – A man who skipped out on his own trial has now been recaptured. Michael Drew Williams, 51, who was arrested last year in connection to a 2021 assault in Mower County, only showed up for the first day of his trial and never returned. The trial was conducted in his absence and a Mower County jury found Williams guilty of second-degree assault. He was arrested late last week in Wisconsin, for drug possession and was shipped back to the Mower County Jail to await sentencing.
