(ABC 6 News) – A space heater is being blamed for a house fire in Albert Lea Sunday. According to the press release, the Albert Lea Fire and Albert Lea Police department responded to the home on Johnson St and reported black smoke billowing from the second floor where the fire was located and extinguished. Crews were able to safely evacuate 6 people inside the home. Fire crews said the blaze was caused by an overheated extension cord used to run a floor heating unit.
