(ABC 6 News) — Hundreds of people took the plunge into 32-degree water at Foster-Arend Pond on Saturday and it was all for a good cause. There were over 450 people participating in the 2021 Special Olympics Polar Plunge at the Rochester Park, and together they raised more than $160,000 for Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Minnesota, according to reports. This years event looked a little differned though. Due to the pandemic participants could either do an in-person plunge or participate in an all new virtual jump if they didn’t want to be around a crowd.
