Clothes dryer blamed for fire at Fairbault county home

WELLS – A clothes dryer outlet is being blamed for an electrical fire Tuesday afternoon in the basement of a Fairbault county home. Wells firefighters responded to 189 S.E. Seventh St. and found the house filled with smoke and flames coming out of the roof. The structure was heavily damaged, the Albert Lea Tribune reports.
Two pet cats perished in the fire and two dogs were rescued. No one was at home when the blaze broke out. Firefighters were on the scene about three hours Tuesday and were called back early Wednesday morning to put out hot spots. There were no reports of injuries.
