Glenville man charged with shooting car thief is ‘standing his ground’

(ABC 6 News) — A Glenville man charged with shooting at a man trying to steal his truck is ‘standing his ground.’ 38-year-old Joseph James Vinton pleaded not guilty this week in Freeborn County District Court in connection to the September 26 incident, in which he opened fire on the suspect when he saw the man driving away with his truck. The perpatrator was airlifted to Saint Marys in Rochester after he was struck by a bullet. Vinton’s pre-trial is set for June of 2022.
