Albert Lea man who tried to elude police during Jan. traffic stop sentenced

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – An Albert Lea man who tried to escape arrest during a routine traffic stop will spend nearly two years behind bars. Brandon Stanley Johnson, 39 of Albert Lea, pleaded guilty in connection to the Jan. 12 incident in Freeborn County near St. Peter Avenue and Eberhardt Street where the 39 year old drove through the fence before getting stuck in the snow on Neal Street. Investigators say Johnson was driving a stolen vehicle. He has been sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
