Community members rally for answers in fatal Austin police shooting

Dozens of people called on the Austin Police Department Thursday to release squad car video of the fatal police shooting of Kouko Christopher Fiafonou. Family members and community activists held a rally outside the Mower County Law Enforcement Center yesterday in response to the death of 38-year-old who was killed two days before Christmas [Dec. 23] following a more than 24-hour standoff, during what family members says was a mental health crisis. Police allege the 38 year old, who had reportedly been walking in traffic wielding a machette, confronted them while armed with a knife. His family is disputing the official account of the incident.
