Multi-vehicle crash shut down I-35 north of Faribault

Faribault, MN – A multi-vehicle traffic crash shut down a section of I-35 north of Faribault Tuesday morning.
Police said traffic was backed up as a result of the crash which involved 2 cars and 3 semi-trucks and affected the northbound lanes of the Highway 19 exit. Commuters had to be rerouted around the crash site. Some injuries were reported and at least one of the truck drivers was trapped, according to reports.

About the same time, a wreck was reported on Highway 52 near Cannon Falls, along with severl other accidents across southeast Minnesota through most of Tuesday morning rush hour as driving conditions in the area were reported as whiteout at times and slippery.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As the second round of a winter storm blew through Minnesota, causing dozens of crashes and spinouts across the state’s thoroughfares, air travelers also were challenged with flight delays due to the hazaradous weather. There were more than 50 delays and over a dozen cancellations at MSP Tuesday, according to its website.
