Austin, MN (KROC AM News) – Austin police say they still have more questions than answers about gunfire reported in a neighborhood near a school Thursday. Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of 9th St. NW, which is about two blocks from Sumner Elementary School, and according to a press release, officers ”did not locate any damage, any victims, or shell casings.” The school was placed in a short-term lockdown as a precaution. The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed anything or had gun-related property damage is asked to contact the Austin PD.
