Freeborn County man accepts plea deal in violent 2020 family fued

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A Freeborn County man charged in a violent 2020 domestic dispute with his father and brother accepted a plea deal in the case. Brandon Lee Crews, 31 of Emmons, is accused of hitting his father multiple times with a baseball bat, and then crashing his father’s pickup truck into a semi being driven by his brother, as the two attemtped to collect property belonging to them when Crews turned violent, according to court documents. Crews pleaded guilty Tuesday to third-degree assault. His sentencing is set for May 9.
