Classes briefly disrupted after handgun found during search at Albert Lea school

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – Classes were briefly disrupted after a handgun was found during a pop up search at an Albert Lea school. Albert Lea Area Schools says local law enforcement conducted a drug search in the high school parking lot Monday, and officers discovered the firearm and ammunition in one of the vehicles being checked. Police confiscated the weapon and charges are pending.
