KASSON, Minn. – The sound of a loud explosion in neighboring Kasson just north of Albert Lea woke up residents early Tuesday morning. Kasson Police say the loud bang neighbors heard was a large fire that destroyed three stores in the area of 8th St. SE. No one was inside the businesses during the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The State Fire Marshall is investigating what caused the fire.
