n/albert lea – (AP) – You’ll see beefed up police patrols if you plan on doing some back to school shopping at Mall of America this weekend. The mall will reopen Friday with more mall security and police on site after an altercation prompted a shooting Thursday at the Mall of America just north of Albert Lea, sending shoppers running for cover. The mall was placed on a lockdown forcing some shoppers to shelter in place, while others fled. The Mall of America bans guns on its premises, according to its website. The investigation is ongoing.
