Three men busted for drugs during Steele County traffic stop now facing federal charges

State charges have been dropped against three men busted for drugs during a traffic stop in Steele County.
The trio now faces federal charges in the case stemming from the bust in which a Minnesota State Patrol trooper K-9 sniffed out 30 to 40 pounds of methamphetamine when they were pulled over on Interstate 35 near the Hope exit in April, the federal indictment states. The men had been in custody at the Steele County Detention Center since their arrest and are now being held at Sherburne County Jail on a federal hold.
