Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office is looking at ways to combat a staff shortage

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office is looking at ways to combat a staff shortage. The department is putting out an urgent call for deputies as they are down 13 deputies, creating double duty for deputies on staff. The sheriff’s office has put in a request to the Freeborn County Board of Commissioners to increase deputy starting pay to recruit and retain officers, and as an incentive, a $1,500 sign on bonus was also recommeded to attract candidates.
