ABC 6 News) – One person was injured in a garage and house fire in rural Albert Lea on Wednesday night. According to Albert Lea Fire Rescue, crews responded to Krikava Road and say the homeowner had been working on a vehicle in the garage when it started on fire before spreading to the rest of the garage and then the home. The residents had evacuated safely with one homeowner sustaining minor injuries to his face. Fire crews also rescued a cat. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation.
