Rising star in the mixed martial arts community killed in crash

A 21-year-old Minnesota woman, who was a rising star in the mixed martial arts community, was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on Intersate 94 on the Red River Bridge, which connects Minnesota and North Dakota. The Minnesota State Patrol said Shalie D. Lipp was a passenger in a Chevy that collided with a jeep. Lipp reportedly was a member of the Academy of Combat Arts and was scheduled to fight on May 20. The crash remains under investigation.
