A major log jam underneath the Fifth Street Bridge has now floated downstream and is lodged above the old Ames Mill Dam. Charlie Fredericks, city of Northfield streets and parks manager, said in a press statement on Monday a lot of the debris that floated downstream and became stuck above the dam is now visible from the Third Street Bridge and Bridge Square. He said if the rain doesn’t carry it downstream by the end of the week, they’ll have to look into other measures to remove it.
