Armed Albert Lea teen shoplifter could be charged as adult

Prosecutors want to charge a 16-year-old Albert Lea boy, who pulled a gun on a Walmart employee after he was busted for shopliftg, as an adult. Ta Ka Paw pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Freeborn County District Court to his charges. The teen is seen in security video running to a vehicle after the incident last month. He was arrested less than 24 hours later. A probable cause hearing was slated for July 24, and a certification hearing, in which it will be determined if Paw should be tried as an adult, is scheduled for July 31.
