BYRON, Minn. [ne/albert lea] – Authorities are investigating after finding human remains Monday near a southern Minnesota city hall, NE of Albert Lea. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says someone reported hearing “suspicious noises” around Byron City Hall. Deputies searched the area and found a man’s body. The investigation is ongoing and police said the cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy from the Southeast Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. Byron is about 30 minutes north of Austin.
