Area businesses continuing to struggle due to the COVID-19 pandemic are getting some more help. The Albert Lea City Council authorized city staff Monday to work with the county and the Albert Lea Economic Development Agency on a program to help local businesses in need of aid amid sharply rising COVID-19 numbers and new directives to help prevent the spread of the deadly disease, including restaurants, bars, and gyms having to close indoor dining for 30 days, as of last week.
