ALBERT LEA, Minn. – It took crews about 4 hours to contain a Friday morning blaze in Albert Lea. When crews responded to a house fire on Washington Avenue S they reported smoke billowing from the attic and both floors of the 2-story vacant home. A preliminary investigation found the fire started in the living area, but the cause is being investigated, the Albert Lea Fire Department says.
